2026.09.1807:56:42UTC+00Poland Industrial Output Growth at 4-Month Low

Poland’s industrial output growth slowed to 4.3% year-on-year in August 2026, down from a revised 4.9% in July and below market expectations of 6.8%. This was the weakest reading since April, as manufacturing output decelerated (3.4% vs 4.4% in July), dragged by markedly slower growth in beverages (6.1% vs 16.9%) and in repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery and equipment (0.9% vs 13.8%). Additionally, declines deepened in tobacco products (-11.7% vs -10.6%), and output fell further in textiles (-4.9% vs -2.5%) and clothing (-4.4% vs 4.2%).

Activity also cooled in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (9.5% vs 11.3%). By contrast, output strengthened in mining and quarrying (18.7% vs 18.5%), as well as in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (10.5% vs 7.4%).

On a monthly basis, industrial production declined 7.5% in August, following a revised 2.0% fall in July. Over the January–August period, industrial output was 3.5% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
