2026.08.2405:15:08UTC+00Finland Producer Inflation Accelerates in July

Producer prices in Finland rose by 6.9% year-on-year in July 2026, slightly faster than the 6.7% increase recorded in June. The upturn was largely driven by the manufacturing sector, where producer price inflation accelerated to 7.6% from 5.8%, led in particular by higher prices for refined petroleum products and basic metals. Prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services also picked up, rising 11.5% after an 11.1% increase in the previous month.

By contrast, producer inflation in mining and quarrying moderated, easing to 11.9% from 14.9%. Overall price growth was further contained by a sharp fall in electricity prices: producer prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply sector declined by 4.2% year-on-year, following a 15.0% increase in June. Lower prices for paper and paper products also helped curb the overall rise in producer prices. On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1% in July, rebounding from a 0.7% decline in the prior month.
